Locking user comments on a story#

We are now able to lock down comments on a story via the "old" Saxo online edit interface at http://edit.theday.com/apps/pbcsedit.dll/red

This feature allows you to stop further commenting on a story, but preserve pre-existing comments.

Find the story you’d like to lock the comments on, open it, and from the “Properties” select the “Forum” dropdown under “Miscellaneous” and choose “Locked”. Then save the story and refresh the page online.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If someone comes along behind you and edits and reposts the story from Newscycle, this locked comments setting will be lost and the comments settings in the workbench properties panel will prevail. After the update, you’ll need to go back into the Saxo interface and repeat the process outlined above.
